An exhibition hockey game will be played to help raise money for Jason Baird, right, and his family. Baird, who was signed to the SteelHounds in November, was badly burned in a lawn-mower explosion in July. He is in the Burn Unit at Akron Children’s Hospital. Many NHL, minor league and SteelHounds players are set to play in the game.
Who: Phil Bourque, Ken Wregget, Troy Loney and Mark Kachowski, all former Pittsburgh Penguins. Mike Rupp, Baird’s former teammate with the Erie Otters who now is with the NHL New Jersey Devils. David Oliver, who played more than 230 games with the Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars and who now is general manager of the Lake Erie Monsters.
When: 3 p.m. Aug. 24.
Where: The Chevrolet Centre.
Cost: Adults, $15. Children, $10.
Tickets go on sale Monday.
