HUBBARD

July 31

Theft: A worker for Nemenz IGA Super Center, 880 W. Liberty St., told police someone removed two flags from the front of the store.

Criminal damaging: A man in the 300 block of Moore Street found his landscape lights along the road.

Aug. 2

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s window was broken near School Street.

Theft: A woman reported her daughter’s cell phone stolen in the 200 block of North Main Street.

Aug. 4

Arrests: A woman and a man, no information provided, were charged with robbery after police got a 911 call regarding a burglary at a home in the 200 block of Grandview Avenue. Stolen was a can of gasoline from the garage.

LIBERTY

Aug. 1

Menacing: A Holly Drive man alleged his former wife threatened over the phone to kill him during an argument about their children’s lack of health insurance.

Criminal damaging: A large amount of paint was spilled on a parking lot to a Trumbull Court apartment complex. Damage was estimated at $150.

Burglary: A woman noticed someone had entered her residence in the 6500 block of Sodom-Hutchings Road via a window before taking $400 and several other items. The loss came to $68,400.

Robbery: A Northview Drive woman told police two gunmen kicked in her front door and demanded money before she gave them a lock box with $300 and they fled.

Burglary: An elderly Warner Road woman discovered someone pried open a metal screen rear door and took $100 worth of coins.

Aug. 2

Theft: A woman’s $300 concrete statue was taken from her yard in the 30 block of Mansell Drive.

Arrest: Authorities apprehended a 20-year-old man near Hadley Avenue who was wanted on a probation-violation charge. He also faced one count of obstructing official business when, police said, he ran from officers and was found hiding under a bed.

Aggravated menacing: A 19-year-old Hadley Avenue man faced charges of aggravated menacing and unlawful restraint after police and firefighters responded to a report of a woman with handcuffs tied to her wrists. The woman alleged her boyfriend handcuffed her against her will during an argument.

Aug. 3

Assault: A Youngstown woman in the 3000 block of Hadley Avenue told officers a man shoved her in the chest, causing her to fall backward onto her son and sustain an injury to her right hand. The man said the accuser entered the home uninvited and that he used a door to try to push her out.

Aggravated menacing: Police responded to possible shots being fired near Biscayne Avenue, where a boy said someone in a vehicle chased him and fired two shots in the air. Two casings from a .40-caliber weapon were found.

Aug. 4

Assault: A 21-year-old Girard man was issued a summons on an assault charge after a Kris Drive man alleged a neighbor punched him in the neck and pushed the accuser during an argument about the neighbor’s dog. The man had a large red mark on his neck.

Criminal damaging: A Greenbriar Drive man reported someone glued his mailbox door closed, painted an obscene picture on the sidewalk and placed a soap-like substance on his vehicle and in its fuel tank.

Aug. 5

Drugs: A Youngstown man, 18, was charged with possession of marijuana after being pulled over on state Route 193. A bag containing 12 grams of suspected marijuana was in the car, police said.

Drugs: A traffic stop near Trumbull and Goleta avenues led to a charge of possession of marijuana against an 18-year-old Youngstown man after officers said a bag with 7.6 grams of suspected marijuana was in his car.

GIRARD

Aug. 2

Vandalism: Police saw an obscenity spray-painted on a vacant home in the 20 block of East Second Street.

Criminal mischief: A Washington Avenue man found that roofing nails had been deliberately thrown onto his front lawn.

Identity fraud: A Woodlawn Avenue woman told authorities she found out about a $30 monthly charge from a magazine company to her bank account that she never authorized.

Aug. 3

Criminal mischief: A Girard woman driving in the 200 block of East Liberty Street said her car was struck by several eggs.

Burglary: An East Wilson Avenue man found that someone entered his residence and stole a $440 mountain bike.

Menacing: A Market Street woman said a Girard man threatened her at a State Street business as part of ongoing problems between the two.

Theft: A rear license plate was stolen off a vehicle on Trumbull Avenue.

Arrest: A Girard man, 21, was charged with criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct after a Lawrence Avenue woman called 911 regarding an unwanted person at her home, as well as a confrontation between several intoxicated people. The man later returned despite having been advised to stay away, the report showed.

Aug. 4

Theft: A Girard woman reported the theft of a cell phone and two DVDs from her father’s Church Hill Road apartment.

Identity fraud: A Cheyenne Drive boy discovered eight unauthorized charges on his debit card totaling $643 after someone used the card at various gas stations in Youngstown and New Castle, Pa.

Aug. 5

Drugs: A Girard man, 24, was arrested near U.S. Route 422 on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia when, police said, a container of suspected marijuana and a glass bowl with suspected marijuana residue were found.
