Austintown will dedicate 9/11 Memorial Park Saturday

AUSTINTOWN— The public is invited when the township’s beautification committee dedicates 9/11 Memorial Park.

The ceremony will be at 2 p.m., Saturday with guest speakers John and Mary Fetchet from Connecticut. After their son died in the attacks on the World Trade Center, they founded the Web site www.voicesofsept11.org, to remember those lost in the attacks.

Elected officials will make speeches. In the park is a gazebo, memorial stones dedicated to the victims of terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, and artifacts from the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Flight 93. Community members are encouraged to attend.
