ASSOCIATIONS

• NARFE Chapter 14, for active and retired federal employees, invites all of the same to a meeting at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Saxon Club, 710 Meridian Road, Austintown. Rich Martin will speak about reverse mortgages.

ATHLETIC GROUPS

• McDonald Baseball Association will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday in the senior citizens room at the post office building.

• McDonald Midget Football Association will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday in the senior citizens room at the post office building.

• McDonald Sideliners will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Blue Devil Room at the high school.

• VFW Post 2799 Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the post home.

CLASSES

• Woodrow Wilson High School January and June Classes of 1947 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Denny’s in Boardman.

CLUBS

• The Mahoning Valley New Voice Club, a support group for laryngectomees and their families and friends, will have its next meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Youngstown Hearing and Speech Center, located in the Beeghly Medical Park, 6614 Southern Boulevard. FRATERNAL GROUPS

• Girard Golden Eagles will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect Street.

GRANGES

• Dublin Grange will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday for its annual corn and wiener roast. Food will be provided by the Grange. Election of officers and plans for Canfield Fair exhibits are on the agenda.

GUILDS

• Holborn Herb Growers Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 19 at Western Reserve Village in Canfield Fairgrounds. In keeping with the theme for the evening, “Learn More About the Gardens,” there will be tours of the gardens and information provided about each.

• Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild will host a “sit-n-sew” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St. Warren. Take a machine, cutting mats and basic sewing supplies. The project is sewing quilt tops for the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church’s World Relief program. Take a salad dish to share. Pizza will be provided. Nonmembers are welcome regardless of skill level. Any who don’t want to sew can cut squares. For more information, call (330) 847-8757.

• Western Reserve Knitting Guild will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fair Park in Canfield for the annual picnic and yarn swap. Those attending should take a covered dish, place setting, yarn to sell (with name and asking price attached) and any unwanted yarn to donate.

• Alzheimer’s Association Families in Transition, for people with early stage memory loss, will meet Aug. 25. The meeting is free and open to all people and their families who are affected by a diagnosis of cognitive impairment such as dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, Lewy Body disease, etc. There is a brief screening process involved before participating in the group.
