Alumni Poker Run is scholarship event

SHARON, Pa. — Penn State Shenango Alumni Society has scheduled its second annual Poker Run for Aug. 23, with proceeds to be applied toward student scholarships and special projects.

Registration will begin at 10 a.m. in McDowell Hall parking lot on Shenango Avenue, and the run will start at 11 a.m. from Penn State Shenango and head toward Cianci’s in Greenville, with several stops along a 100-mile stretch. The final destination will be Tully’s in downtown Sharon, where entertainment, prizes and dinner will be available at 4 p.m.

Run sponsorships are available, and contributions for scholarships will be appreciated.

The cost is $20 for a driver and $15 for each rider. For a pre-registration form call (724) 983-2905 or go online to shenango.psu.edu/Alumni/default.htm. Checks should be made payable to Penn State Shenango Alumni Society Poker Run and mailed to the Alumni Relations Office, 147 Shenango Ave., Sharon, PA 16146. The first 30 paid participants will receive a free T-shirt.
