Injured officer in serious condition

YOUNGSTOWN — Patrolman Ron Jankowski, 33, who crashed his cruiser on McCollum Road Wednesday evening, was in serious condition Thursday at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Jankowski, a K-9 officer, had his dog Jocko in the car. The animal was not hurt, police said. Details of the crash were not immediately available.
