Cavaliers to open season Oct. 28 against Boston
CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cavaliers will begin next season where they ended the last one.
Cleveland will open the 2008-09 season on the road against the NBA champion Boston Celtics Oct. 28. In May, the Cavs lost Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals at Boston.
The high-profile matchup is one of 25 nationally televised games for the Cavaliers, who will play their home opener Oct. 30 against Charlotte.
For the second straight year, the Cavs will play a home game on Christmas as they’ll host the Washington Wizards.
Cleveland’s home schedule features two games against the Detroit Pistons (Feb. 22, March 31), two against the Celtics (Jan. 9 and April 12) and one against league MVP Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers (Feb. 8).
