July 30

Drug abuse: An 18-year-old Salem man was arrested on a charge of drug abuse of marijuana on South Broad Street.

Theft: The manager at Sun City Tanning, 558 E. Main Street, reported $280 in deposits stolen from a lock box.

Aug. 1

Drug paraphernalia: A 39-year-old Berlin Center woman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police found a silver spoon containing white powder residue in the car console.

July 28

Theft: A Home Savings and loan ATM card was stolen and later used at several locations.

Theft: Callaway golf clubs were stolen from an auto at a home in the 200 block of North Beverly Avenue.

Theft: A Sony AM-FM compact disc player was stolen from an auto at a home in the 400 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: Half dollars were taken from a room at Joseph Knight Towers, 107 Westchester Drive.

Theft: Earrings were taken at the Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

Theft: An adult woman and juvenile female were arrested on felony theft charges at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Burglary: A door was left unlocked and 90 DVDs were stolen from an apartment in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Drive.

Breaking and entering: Power equipment and tools were stolen from a home in the 2000 block of South Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: Groceries were obtained with a bad check at Save-A-Lot, 1715 S. Raccoon Road.

Burglary: The rear door of an apartment was entered and a computer was taken in the 100 block of Aldrich Road.

Menacing: An unknown male caller was reported to be making menacing phone calls at a home in the 5000 block of Baylor Avenue.

Theft: Narcotics were taken from a home in the 1000 block of Paisley Avenue.

Theft: A man is accused of theft in a business dispute at a home in the 500 block of Norquest Boulevard.

Fraud: Unauthorized purchases were made using a debit card at a home in the 300 block of Idlewood Road.

Breaking and entering: A construction trailer and construction equipment was stolen from a home in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: A cash drawer was short twice, and an employee is a suspect at Send It Packing Plus, 4496 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Two females were arrested and released with summonses in theft at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Drug offense: A Youngstown man was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and a pipe at a bar on Mahoning Avenue when police arrested him on a warrant for failure to appear on a seat-belt violation.
