Want to play softball with Kelly Pavlik?

YOUNGSTOWN — The first “Kelly Pavlik Celebrity Softball Slam” will take place at 6 p.m. Aug. 9 at Cene Park in Struthers, and area businesses can take part.

Team Pavlik will take on Team Media in this first-ever event to benefit the United Way of Youngstown and Mahoning Valley.

And both teams will open their rosters every inning to players from various businesses.

For a $250 donation to the United Way, area businesses can have up to four employees play an inning with one of the teams.

The team lineups tentatively include:

Team Pavlik: The Pavliks (Kelly, Mike Sr., Mike Jr.), Jack Loew, John DalTorio and more.

Team Media: Joe Scalzo, Rob Todor and Todd Franko from The Vindicator; Bob Hannon, Nate Schick, Joe Aulisio and Roxann Sebest from WKBN/WYTV; and Scott Schneider, Mike Case, Mark Monstrola and Dana Balash from WFMJ.
