Sunday: The Hartford native started 24th in the No. 22 Toyota Caterpillar for the Pennsylvania 500, and finished in 31st place, one lap off the winner’s pace, before an estimated crowd of 100,000 at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa.

Season to date: Blaney moved up one spot in the Sprint Cup standings, to 29th, overtaking Robby Gordon. Next on the list is Paul Menard, who is 108 points ahead of Blaney.

Up next: NASCAR’s top series heads to Watkins Glen, N.Y., for its last road race of the season, the Centurion Boats at The Glen, Aug. 10. Television coverage on ESPN begins at 1 p.m. with the green flag scheduled to drop just after 2.
