LIBERTY — The 13th annual Paula and Anthony Rich Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for Aug. 25 at Youngstown Country Club.

The format for the outing will be an 18 hole, four-person scramble with both morning and afternoon tee-off times.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Rich Center for Autism, which has operated for 13 years in cooperation with Youngstown State University as a lasting tribute to the memory of Paula and Anthony Rich, who died in a plane crash on Sept. 8, 1994, near Pittsburgh. The previous golf outings have raised nearly half a million dollars for the treatment of autism at the center, where 60 children presently attend. No tuition is ever charged to a family for services rendered at the facility.

Providing backing for the event are: First National Bank and Outback Steakhouse, tournament sponsors; World Financial Group, Humility of Mary Health Partners, Akron Children’s Hospital, WYTV, MyYTV and WHOT, eagle sponsors; and Gia Russa and Carrabba’s Italian Grill, birdie sponsors.

Sonny Cascarelli, Dominic Marchionda and Matt Pecchia are chairmen, and their committee includes Susan Pecchia, John Chiaro, Steve Horger, Ennio Marchionda, Nino Marchionda, Jackie Marchionda, JoAnna Schiraldi, Dan Ricchiuti, Vincent Ricchiuti, Dini Ricchiuti, Bob Rosinski, Jane Rosinski, David Rubino, Rich Ruehs and Tammy Zelenak. Scott Sundstrom is the golf professional at the country club.

For further information about the golf tournament, call Susan Pecchia, (330) 506-7527, or Lisa Reardon, (330) 757-0648.

Also planned as a fundraiser for the center is a Napa Valley to the Mahoning Valley event scheduled for Nov. 15 at Stambaugh Auditorium with Angee Shaker as coordinator.
