BUTLER COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE New in New Castle


Butler County Community College has already surpassed its enrollment expectations and will have close to 500 students attending classes come Aug. 25. The new facility at Lawrence Crossing located on U.S. Route 224 in Union Township, New Castle, Pa., is having an open house at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

BC3 Facts

BC3 has been in Lawrence County since 1989.

Each year BC3 has about 3,800 credit students.

BC3 offers 100 online courses.

Of all the BC3 students, 65 percent move on to a four-year institution.

Credits earned at BC3 transfer to numerous Western Pennsylvania schools as well as surrounding area schools.

Pennsylvania residents, $166 per credit

Out-of-state residents, $239 per credit

Average cost for two years with 60 credits ($166), books and lab fees = $10,560

Average cost for two years with 60 credits ($239), books and lab fees = $14,940

Two years at BC3 is less than the cost of one year at a private or public institution.

Financial aid is still available for the fall semester that starts Aug. 25.
