Movie night planned

CANFIELD — Canfield Christian Church, 123 S. Broad St., will sponsor a movie night from 9:30 to 11 p.m. Friday. “No More Baths” will be shown. Those attending should take lawn chairs or blankets. Popcorn and drinks will be provided.

Multicultural service

YOUNGSTOWN — Coitsville Presbyterian Church, 91 Coitsville-Hubbard Road, Route 616, will have a multicultural communion service at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 10. Participating congregations will be St. James AME, Unity Baptist, Common Ground Church Community, Gibson Heights Second Presbyterian and Coitsville Presbyterian Church.

American Indian speaker

BOARDMAN — The Rev. Sidney Byrd, a Santee Sioux pastor from South Dakota, will preach Aug. 17 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive. He will speak at the 8:30 a.m. chapel service and 10:30 a.m. sanctuary service.

Guest pastor

EAST PALESTINE — Phil Bartholomew will return as guest speaker at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at First United Presbyterian Church, 109 W. Rebecca St. He will help the congregation commission Linda Cormany and Susan Foreman as Stephen’s Leaders. They will attend Stephens Leadership Training Course next week in Pittsburgh.

Stephen Ministries is a complete system of training and organizing for lay people to provide Christian care to the congregation. His wife, Cathy Bartholomew, will provide special music.

Luncheon set

YOUNGSTOWN — Professionals Partnering with Christ will have a luncheon at noon Thursday at Youngstown Club in the Commerce Building. The cost is $10. Reservations must be made by e-mail to zaidasantiago@aol.com.

Guest speaker will be Sonja A. Williams, wife of Mayor Jay Williams. She is program coordinator with Youngstown Early College program at Youngstown State University and an associate minister at Calvary Ministries International.

At Abundant Life

NORTH JACKSON — Abundant Life Ministries, 51 Salem-Warren Road (state Route 45), has scheduled concerts at 6 p.m. Saturdays. Programs will be tonight, Claude Vance, country Gospel; Aug. 9 with Kassie Simpson; Aug. 16, Claud Vance; and Glory Bound, Sept. 6. Christian musicians and singers are invited to participate. Rosary cenacle

YOUNGSTOWN — The Shrine of Our Lady, Comforter of the Afflicted, 517 S. Belle Vista Ave., and Queen of the Holy Rosary Prayer Group will have a rosary cenacle at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the shrine. Refreshments will follow in the social hall.

Anniversary event

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Calvary Temple Worship Center, which is having services at Epworth United Methodist Church, 805 E. Washington St., will celebrate its 35th anniversary during a service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday and then gather at 5 p.m. at Cascade Park for food and fellowship. A free gospel concert will be at 7 with the center’s Created To Praise Gospel Choir and Kidz Choir. Jameson Titus, president of Christ for India, will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Programs for seniors

YOUNGSTOWN — The Janie Wright Mission of Union Baptist Church, 528 Lincoln Ave., will host a program geared to senior citizens at 4 p.m. Aug. 12. His Music Connections

GIRARD — His Music Connections will have a concert from 6 to 10 tonight at the Old Wellman Theater, 29 W. Liberty St. Eleventh Hour and As Is will perform. There will be free food and beverages.

Outdoor service

YOUNGSTOWN — Pastor Judah Early, chief executive officer of Obadiah Productions in Cleveland, will speak at 6 p.m. Wednesday at New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St. Musical guest is the Youngstown State University Choir.

First Friday Club

BOARDMAN — Dr. Donna Orsuto, professor at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Italy, will speak when the First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown meets Thursday at Antone’s Banquet Centre, Market Street.

Tent revival

CANFIELD — Lifecare Ministry Center, Lucille Orr Ministries, 5357 S. Raccoon Road, will have a citywide tent revival, “Wind Blow, Fire Fall, Glory Come Down,” next week.

Sessions, which will begin at 7 p.m., will feature: Thursday, music by Brad McCoy and team and guest speaker, Pastor Jim Erb; Friday, music by Mindy and Charley Wildman and Susan Seideland speakers, Pastors Howard Seidel and Ralph Barnery, and Saturday, music by The Unveiling, worship performance by Seeds of Joy and guest speakers, Pastor Juan Rivera at 2 p.m. and Pastor Lucas Gonzalez at 7.

Crossing Paths

HERMITAGE, Pa. — Crossing Paths, a local television ministry, will have its annual picnic and talent hunt at 2 p.m. Aug. 10 at Shenango Township Park, 3439 Hubbard-West Middlesex Road. YOUNGSTOWN — The Place Where the Lord Provides Christian Center, 104 W. Evergreen Ave., will host the Davidic Army of God Ministry from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Marion C. Masters will present Davidic teaching and Hebrew praise and worship with song, dance and ancient instruments and garments. Featured will be a life-size version of the Ark of the Covenant.
