July 27
Aggravated menacing: An East Second Street woman told police another woman, 25, left phone messages threatening to harm or kill the accuser.
Arrests: A vehicle was stopped on U.S. Route 422 and two arrests were made. A Niles man, 27, was charged with being a fugitive from justice and driving with a suspended license; a 24-year-old Niles woman faced a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after police said a suspected crack pipe was in her purse.
July 29
Recovered property: A 1995 Olds Cutlass Ciera was found in Mercer County, Pa., after an elderly Second Street woman had reported it stolen.
Criminal mischief: A West Avenue woman reported a concrete brick was used to damage a rear window on her car, resulting in a $500 estimate.
Theft: The driver of a white van pumped $10 worth of gasoline and left a Sunoco station, 307 S. State St., without paying.
July 30
Criminal mischief: An East Kline Street woman saw that someone had ransacked her van.
Theft: A man in the 200 block of East Kline Street reported an 18-volt cordless drill, a saw and three gold chains stolen from his truck.
Theft: A $300 cell phone and a set of keys were taken from a vehicle in the 400 block of East Prospect Street.
Damage: A North Avenue man’s car stereo was damaged.
Assault: A Girard man told authorities two men got out of a car and spit on the accuser at a North State Street business.
Identity fraud: A Gordon Street man accused a relative of placing a phone number in his name without permission.
Theft: An East Broadway Avenue man reported a checkbook and change stolen from his vehicle.
Identity fraud: A Dearborn Avenue woman noticed several debit-card transactions were made without consent at various gas stations in Youngstown and Boardman.
July 31
Assault: A Trumbull Avenue woman alleged her former boyfriend grabbed and twisted the accuser’s right wrist and grabbed her by the chest during an argument.
Aggravated menacing: A worker for a Bundy Road business reported receiving a phone message in which the caller threatened to have someone kill the employee’s wife and daughter.

July 27
Burglary: A Wilson Avenue woman discovered $25, a camera and a necklace totaling $916 missing after someone climbed through a window to her home.
Criminal damaging: An East Liberty Street woman reported damage to a rear window of her home.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A woman staying at a Motor Inn Drive motel told police she loaned her 1992 Ford Tempo to a man who never returned it.
Damage: A rock was tossed through the bedroom window of an apartment in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive.
Theft/criminal damaging: A man in the 3900 block of Belmont Avenue reported a brick was tossed through his vehicle’s driver’s-side window, and that a radio receiver and global positioning system device were stolen. The loss and damage estimate came to $940.
July 28
Criminal damaging: Someone spray-painted graffiti on a rear portion of the Liberty Plaza, 3551 Belmont Ave., causing roughly $500 worth of damage.
Theft: A Cortland man reported a GPS device stolen from his car while in the 1600 block of Motor Inn Drive.
Arrest: While investigating a suspicious person at a Belmont Avenue store, authorities took into custody a 36-year-old Flint, Mich., man wanted on a probation-violation charge in Clark County, Ind.
Forgery: A 36-year-old Youngstown woman was accused of trying to pass a counterfeit $5,769 check from Youngstown State University at Penguin Check Cashing, 3233 Belmont Ave.
July 30
Aggravated menacing: A North Gate Road woman alleged a 52-year-old neighbor pulled out a gun during a dispute. The neighbor said the device was a cell phone.
Criminal damaging: A Sampson Road man said a Youngstown woman, 27, used a marker to write on his garage door.
Theft: A woman’s lost wallet was found near state Route 304, but $13 was missing.
Drugs: A 21-year-old Youngstown man was taken into custody during a vehicle registration check in the 3100 block of Belmont Avenue. He was charged with possession of dangerous drugs.
Drugs: While responding to a possible drunken driver, a 44-year-old man was arrested near state Route 304 on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, having no operator’s license and operating a vehicle impaired. A green substance thought to be suspected marijuana as well as papers to roll marijuana were found, the report said.

Auto theft: A woman’s vehicle was stolen while she patronized a North Main Street business.
Criminal damaging: An employee with a North Main Street business arrived to find that someone had broken the glass surrounding an electric meter.
July 28
Theft: A Grandview Drive woman accused her estranged husband of taking items from her residence while she was away.
July 29
Criminal mischief: A man reported eggs were thrown at his residence in the 600 block of Meadowland Drive.
Fraud: A Fifth Avenue woman told police of someone forging her checks.
July 31
Possible assault: Officers got a call about two men fighting in the 30 block of Oakdale Avenue.
