Suspect indicted in shooting death

YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County grand jury has indicted a 25-year-old Hammaker Street man on an aggravated murder charge in the July 19 shooting death of another 25-year-old man, who was fatally wounded outside a Poland Avenue bar.

Jason Delgado was indicted Thursday in the death of Ricardo P. Moctezuma of Burlington Street, who was shot outside the El Tropical bar around 1:50 a.m. after a fight inside the business. Police found Moctezuma in the parking lot bleeding from the head.

Delgado was also indicted on two counts of attempted murder pertaining to two women who were wounded by gunfire. Firearm specifications apply to the aggravated murder and attempted murder charges.

Delgado is also charged with felonious assault on a third woman, who was cut with a beer bottle.

Delgado, who speaks no English, could serve a life prison term without parole if he is convicted of the aggravated murder.
