Boardman Lanes event will benefit diabetes effort

BOARDMAN — Boardman Lanes will host “Bowling Towards a Cure for Diabetes” from noon to 4 p.m. May 31. Envelopes for collecting donations can be picked up at Boardman Lanes before the event or by calling (330) 726-1136 or (330) 717-6892. Collection envelopes will be turned in at the event.

All proceeds will be divided between the American Diabetes Association in hopes of a cure and to Akron Children’s Hospital to educate the families of newly diagnosed diabetics.

The cost is $2 per game, and participants can bowl as many as they want. Bowling shoes are free. Pizza, pop and pasta will be for sale. A silent auction and Chinese auction will take place; participants need not be present to win.
