Western Reserve cheerleader wins statewide honor


BERLIN CENTER — A senior at Western Reserve High School won Miss Cheerleader of America’s Top Ten title for Ohio.

Hannah Zimmerman’s honor followed a two-day scholarship selection process in Columbus. The daughter of Jodi and Donald Zimmerman, Hannah won a tiara, certificate, state finalist plaque and place certificate. The competition requires each cheerleader to write an essay and includes short interviews with professionally trained judges. It also includes a pageant-styled evening gown selection.

Hannah’s been a cheerleader for all four years of high school, making the junior varsity squad as a freshman.

Hannah made varsity as a sophomore and his season served as varsity squad captain. She plans to major in radiologic technology at Kent State University-Salem branch.
