Two from ESPN will speak at YSU student press event

YOUNGSTOWN— The annual Youngstown State University/Tri-County Journalism Press Day is scheduled from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday in Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus.

Hundreds of student journalists from more than two dozen area high schools will participate. The annual event includes sessions featuring various local print, radio and television journalists. Awards will be given to high school journalists in dozens of categories, including best news article, feature article, editorial, editorial cartoon, sports story, headline, newspaper layout and yearbook.

Keynote speakers are John Seibel and Heather Seibel from ESPN. Heather Seibel is an associate producer of ESPN’s SportsCenter. John Seibel is host for ESPN Radio’s afternoon drive program called SportsNation.
