DEPLOYED

Sent to Iraq

Army Capt. Rebekah S. Henn has deployed overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Henn, a special troops officer with eight years of military service, is normally assigned to Headquarter Support Company, Fort Hood, Texas.

She is the daughter of Paulette Henn of Mercer, Pa., and Gerald Henn of Treichlers, Pa. The captain graduated in 1996 from Mercer Junior-Senior High School, Mercer, Pa., and received a bachelor’s degree in 2000 from the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in 2004 from Webster University, St Louis, Mo.

PROMOTIONS

Third tour in Iraq

Marine Corps Sgt. Adam Brant was promoted to his present rank upon his return from his third tour of duty in Iraq. Stationed at Cherry Point, N.C., with the 252nd Airwing Division, Brant is a safety and survival duty inspector with the squadron. A 2003 Hubbard High graduate, he is the son of Randy and Kim Brant of Hubbard.
