Scholarship brunch planned by Black Nurses Association

HUBBARD — Brentford House Banquet Center, 737 Myron St., has been chosen by the Youngstown/Warren Black Nurses Association as the setting for its 18th annual scholarship brunch and Chinese Auction.

“Serving Under the Sun” is the theme for the event scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 10. The Chinese auction will be conducted from 10:30 to 11:30.

The featured speaker will be former Youngstown resident Dr. Karen Hawkins Bankston, director of Drake Rehabilitation Center in Cincinnati. A $1,000 scholarship and two $500 scholarships will be presented to three members of the medical field.
