MASSILLON — Senior Nate Wilson (3-0) pitched a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts in the second game of a doubleheader at the Tigers’ field. Mark Carrocce hit a pair of singles and scored twice for the Cardinals (15-2) in the second contest. Tom Cheslik hit a triple and single, and drove in a run, Brian Fox hit a pair of singles while Dave Brown singled and drove in two runs. Jared Turocy (4-0) scattered three hits with nine strikeouts to pick up the win. Dan Banna hit a double and home run, scored once and drove in two runs for the Cardinals. Jake Kucek hit three singles and drove in three runs.

Boardman 6-13, Ursuline 3-12

STRUTHERS — Winning pitcher Joe Strawinski (3-0) struck out 11 batters and walked one in the first game at Cene Park. Dan Kubala tripled and brought in two runs while Shane Parks, Pat O’Brien and Eric Walters each had two hits. Nick Dinello doubled. For the Irish, Paul Cene doubled. In the second game, Dinello and Mike Popio each had four hits. Three of Dinello’s were triples as he drove in three runs. Popio had four RBIs. Chad Kobylanski’s three hits included a triple and double for the Spartans (12-4). For the Irish, Mark Lapikas, Nick McGahagan and David Rossi each had two hits.

Akron SVSM 8-7, Mooney 5-13

STRUTHERS — Nick Fleming belted a homer for Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary in the first game at Cene Park. Drew Fitzpatrick had a triple and single while Matt Durkin had two singles for Mooney. In the nightgcap, Bob Herberger had two triples, one double and one single while Drew Fitzpatrick hit a homer and two singles to lead Mooney (15-4). Durkin contributed four singles while Scott Smith added a double and two singles for the Cardinals. St. Vincent-St. Mary was led by Nick Dehnke with a double and single while Joe Adams with three singles.

Chaney 11-9, Jackson-Milton 0-1

NORTH JACKSON — Dustin Guyer’s two-hitter included 10 strikeouts. Guyer, Kevin Boris and Zack Domkowski each had two singles for Chaney. Sophomore Tom Smith and freshman Joe Sarisky each had a single for Jackson-Milton. In the second game, Francisco Morales had two hits and struck out eight en route to pitching a two-hitter for the Cowboys (6-12), Sean Mancino had two hits. Sophomore Jim Nagy and Sarisky had a single apiece for Jackson-Milton (0-15).

South Range 10-13, Salem 5-10

NORTH LIMA — In the opener, Jack Dawson had two singles and two RBIs while Vince Miller had two singles and one RBI. For Salem, Dan Fortney had a double, single and one RBI while Zac O’Brien two singles. In the nightcap, Joel Melnick had a double, two singles and three RBIs while Isaac Melnick had a triple, single and two RBIs to lead South Range (6-9). Mike Rohan added a double, single and two RBIs. Gavin Snyder had a two-run single, Miller two singles and one RBI, and Don DeChellis two singles. For Salem (5-9), Chip Hank had two doubles, asingle and three RBIs. Gary Sebrell had a double, two singles and an RBI, Shane Kibler and Jimmy Armeni each a two-run single while Zac O’Brien had two singles.

Lakeview 7-15, Howland 4-5

HOWLAND — The Bulldogs’ Kevin Monti and Scott Palette each had two hits including doubles. Michael Pasternak doubled while Robert Franks drove in two runs. Howland’s Kevin Vellentre hit a two-run triple while Jared Kirin and Matt Preston doubled. In the second game, Monti and Matt Metzger had three hits for Lakeview while Kevin Cox, Palette and Dante Petronelli had two each. For the Tigers, Josh Kostraba’s two hits included a triple. Vince Villio also had two hits.

Mathews 9-8, Crestview 3-7

NEW WATERFORD — The Mustangs collected 16 hits in the first game as Colin Bowser, Rick Sommers and John Scudier each had three hits. Phil Ciprian, Kyle Daves and Jesse Hardval had two hits apiece. Corey Hill hit a pair of singles for the Rebels. The Mustangs (12-3) rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the second contest. Ciprian, Jake Swank, Luke Weymer and Jesse Hardval each had two hits. Mike Cervone and Brian Bechtel had two hits apiece for the Rebels (5-11).

Western Reserve 16, Southern 3

BERLIN CENTER — Eric Kennehan (1-2) scattered three hits and struck out five to pick up the win. A seven-run fourth inning by the Blue Devils (8-6, 7-2 Inter Tri-County League Tier Two) put the contest out of reach. John Gora hit three singles and drove in two runs. Nick Timio hit a home run and double. A second game was rained out.

Hubbard 9-1, Springfield 0-7

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Winning pitcher Mike Carnahan hit a three-run homer for the Eagles. He struck out six and walked four. Carnahan, John Madeline and Bo Slemons each had two hits. Slemons, Marc Kanetsky and Matt Shelton doubled. Travis Richey and Brandon Goist had Springfield’s hits. In the Tigers’ win, Dru Bortz (2-0) tossed a four-hitter. Todd Kibby’s three hits included a triple and double. He scored two runs and drove in three. Travis Richey and Dylan Dejane had two hits each for the Tigers (13-5). For Hubbard, Shelton and Slemons had two hits each.

Eastlake North 9, Lowellville 1

MARION — Lowellville’s 1-0 lead was wiped out when Division I Eastlake North scored four times in the third inning. Senior Jim Sudon had two hits for Lowellville, a Div. IV team.

Lowellville 15, Marion Elgin 6

MARION — Drew Skelley, Tony Donofrio and freshman Anthony Alfano had two hits apiece for Lowellville (13-3) against Division III Elgin. Junior starter Andrew Mincher allowed two hits through 21‚Ñ3 innings before freshman Mike Petronek gave up five hits over the final 42‚Ñ3.

Southeast 12-15, Newton Falls 2-5

NEWTON FALLS — Anthony Pennington (2-1) scattered three hits to pick up the win for the Pirates. Brent Ford hit a double and two singles, and drove in two runs. Alex Blake tripled and singled while Matt Bright hit a pair of singles and drove in two runs. Blake hit three doubles and drove in two runs for the Pirates (6-9) in the second game. Brent Ford hit a pair of singles and drove in two runs. Greg Lensley hit a double and two singles while Bright hit a pair of singles.
