MERCER COUNTY Sentencings
Several people were sentenced Friday in Mercer County Common Pleas Court. According to court records:
Eugenia Caldwell, 33, of Fruit Avenue, Farrell, was sentenced to nine to 23 months in jail followed by two years probation for felony aggravated assault. On April 8, 2007, Caldwell stabbed another woman in the abdomen, causing the victim to be hospitalized for a punctured lung and trauma to her spleen. The assault took place at a Ravine Place, Sharon address.
Nicholas Kline, 24, formerly of Steingrabe Road, Mercer, was resentenced to one to three years in prison for terroristic threats, possessing instruments of crime, two counts of simple assault, two counts of theft by unlawful taking, criminal mischief and theft by deception, all misdemeanors. Kline had been sentenced for the 2005 convictions to six to 12 months in jail followed by 22 months probation. His probation was revoked March 13 because he had a new criminal conviction, violated his curfew and failed to complete a treatment program as ordered. Kline was convicted in 2005 of the offense after he assaulted several members of his family and damaged a computer. He also wrote bad checks to two stores in Mercer and Coolspring Township.
Dexter McKelvin, 24, formerly of Hamilton Avenue, Farrell, was sentenced to one to four years in state prison for one consolidated count of delivery of a controlled substance, a felony. He was apprehended with cocaine on Feb. 12, 2007 on Spearman Avenue, Farrell.
Robert Priester, 35, of Old Fredonia Road, Mercer, was placed on two years probation for indecent assault, a misdemeanor. He rubbed his genitals across the hand of a 12-year-old girl at a Coolspring Township residence in January 2007.
Andrew Reedy, 40, of Wengler Avenue, Sharon, was placed on two years probation for a consolidated count of bad checks, a misdemeanor. Reedy passed five personal checks totaling $335 at Hickory Beer Distributing, 3697 E. State St., Hermitage in February, 2007, knowing they would not be honored.
