HOWLAND — Lynn Battison was named 2007 Employee of the Year at Shepherd of the Valley-Howland, where he has worked in maintenance for the past five years. Jim Deitch, director of maintenance, nominated Battison because of the concern he shows for the facility and the pride he takes in his job.

POLAND — Joseph M. Mersol, an agent for New York Life Insurance Co. in Poland, has earned membership in the Million Dollar Round Table for the 10th time. Members must demonstrate superior professional knowledge, experience and client service.

CANFIELD — Brenda Gregory, a long-term care insurance agent appointed with Genworth Life Insurance Co., has reached the production milestone of a million-dollar book of business. She has been providing counseling to individuals and businesses on planning for long-term care for eight years.
