Youngstown Foundation grows and gives
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Foundation, established in 1918, has awarded 42 local non-profit organizations grants totaling more than $1.4 million.
The foundation’s purpose is to provide financial assistance to institutions that deal with the mental, moral and physical well-being of Youngstown citizens.
Executive director Janice Strasfeld said the foundation continues to grow year after year, giving more and more non-profit organizations the opportunity to receive money.
“It’s never stopped growing because since it was established, people have been adding funds,” she said. “We’ve grown to over 42 funds, and the beauty of it is, they’re constantly addressing current needs.”
The foundation has several different types of funds set up for donors to choose.
