X Chaney High School January and June Classes of 1942 will meet for breakfast at 10:30 a.m. May 5 at Denny’s in Austintown. All classmates and spouses are welcome.

X Struthers High School Class of 1954 will meet at 9 a.m. May 10 for breakfast at Denny’s, Route 224, Boardman. All classmates and guests are welcome. No reservations are needed.

X Mahoning Valley Cribbage Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at St. James Church, 7640 Glenwood Ave., Boardman. New players are welcome. For more information, call (330) 757-9503.

XOhio Cultural Alliance will meet at 6 p.m. May 5 at the Youngstown Club, 201 E. Commerce St., with Mary B. Smith as the featured speaker. She will provide memories of her more than 70 years with Youngstown State University and in the Valley. Music will be by the Wade Raridon Singers, and the meal will be catered. The cost is $13 for paid-up members and $18 for nonpaid members. Reservations are required by Wednesday. Checks, payable to the alliance, should be mailed to OCA, P.O. Box 561, Canfield, OH 44406.

LIBRARY FRIENDS

X Friends of Boardman Library will meet at 9:30 a.m. May 12 in the community room, where there will be a presentation on “Photographic History of the Sheet and Tube” by Perc Kelty at 10, followed by a brief business session. Guests are welcome and no reservations are required. Hostesses will be Marjorie Burin, Ruth Eddy, Pauline Hruby and Phyllis Huggins. Reservations will be accepted for a luncheon to be held June 11. Books, magazines and tapes will be collected for the book cart from 10 a.m. to noon the first and third Saturday of each month.

XFriends of Poland Library will hold a spring luncheon May 6 in the library meeting room. A business session will be held at 10 a.m., followed by the luncheon at 11:30 and a program on “Fashion Through the Ages” by Barbara Luce. The cost is $11 per person. Reservations are required by Tuesday and can be mailed to Francis Ritz, 2835 Poland Village Blvd., Poland, OH 44514. Guests are welcome. Book and magazine donations will be accepted for the book cart fundraiser.

X Canfield Republican Women’s Club will meet May 7 for Legislative Day. Members will view an appeals court hearing at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at Overtures Restaurant and a tour the Seventh District Court of Appeals hosted by Judge Mary DeGenaro. X Federated Democratic Women of Mahoning County will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at Denny’s on Route 224 in Boardman. A speaker from the office of U.S. Rep. Charlie Wilson, D-6th, will be featured. Guests are welcome.

X Warren Republican Women’s Club will meet at noon Thursday at DiLucia’s Restaurant on Elm Road, Warren. Officer Brian Crites of the Warren Police Department will be the guest speaker. Lunch will be served. The cost is $12. For reservations, call (330) 856-4659.

religious groups

X Immaculate Heart of Mary Altar and Rosary Society will meet May 5 at the parish center hall. Appetizers will be served at 5:30 p.m., and an installation dinner will be at 6:30. The cost is $13. Reservations are required by Monday and can be made with Rebecca Velasco or Marilyn D’Eramo.

X St. Michael Altar Guild will meet at 6 p.m. May 5 for dinner at the parish hall. Officers for the coming season will be installed by Tom Soich. The cost is $13, and checks, made payable to the guild, should be mailed by Monday to Rita Bova. There will be a birthday gift exchange. Those interested in participating are asked to take a wrapped new $5 gift.

societies

X Girard Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. May 3 at the Barnhisel House to prepare for the summer season. Beginning May 10, the house will be open to visitors from 1 to 4 p.m. on the second and fourth weekends of each month. The donation will be $5 for adults and $2 for students.

SUPPORT GROUPS

XMultiple Sclerosis Services Agency, Mahoning County Support Group, will meet at 7 p.m. May 6 at Austinwoods Health Care Center, 4780 Kirk Road, Austintown. The speaker will be Michelle Roberto of Medtronics, who will present information on the Baclophin Pump. For more information, call (330) 792-3746.
