Hubbard’s Kara Egelsky pitched her second no-hitter in three days.

CORTLAND — Lakeview junior Abbey Bensing tossed a six-inning no-hitter, striking out all 19 batters she faced, to lead Lakeview to a 10-0 win over Brookfield in a Trumbull Athletic Conference softball game on Wednesday.

Bensing (5-2, 0.18 ERA) did not have a perfect game due to a runner reaching on a passed ball third strike.

Jessica Downs went 3-for-4 with a double and Mackenzie Pallette had two RBIs. Angela DiCesare and Alexis Sidley had two hits apiece for Lakeview (10-2, 8-2).

Brookfield is 4-9, 0-9.

Hubbard 7, Girard 0

HUBBARD — Senior Kara Egelsky (7-1) had her second no-hitter in three days.

Egelsky had 13 strikeouts, allowed three walks and committed an error as four Girard batters reached base.

Senior Gabby Flynn led off the bottom of the first with a home run. Flynn also had a single for Hubbard (10-5, 7-1 TAC).

Juniors Jessica Lunt and Meagan Schultz and freshman Ashley Bone each had a double for the Eagles, whose win marked its second against Girard this spring.

Egelsky’s first no-hitter this week was on Monday in six innings against Brookfield.

Canfield 11, Salem 0

SALEM — Melanie West doubled and drove in three runs for the Cardinals (9-2, 6-0 Metro Athletic Conference).

Mandy Moliterno’s two hits included a double and drove in three runs.

Howland 9, Struthers 8

HOWLAND — Rachel Bixler had three hits including a double and a home run, and Katie Peoples also had three hits with a double as Howland held off Struthers.

Taylor Hill also added two hits for the winners and Danielle Strawn added two RBIs.

Struthers, trailing 9-5 in the seventh, rallied for three runs in the final inning before the Tigers put out the fire.

Pymatuning Valley 7, Maplewood 4

CORTLAND — Jenn Tennant hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning as Pymatuning Valley rallied from a 4-1 deficit after five innings.

Tori Spencer went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI for Maplewood (9-4), which had seven errors.
