YOUNGSTOWN — Warriors Inc. is having its fourth annual “Unity in the Community Parade” Saturday.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Midlothian Boulevard at Market Street and head north ending at 2733 Market St., the H.O.P.E. Building parking lot in the Uptown, at noon.
The parade’s objectives are to unify the community and showcase area businesses, civic organizations, government agencies, local youth groups and faith-based groups within the Mahoning Valley.
A variety of floats are expected to take part in the parade, as well as automobiles, walkers and marchers.

Trustees set session
NORTH LIMA — Beaver Township trustees have scheduled an emergency, closed-door session for 7 p.m. today at the township administration office to discuss personnel. Officials did not say whether they intend to take action after the executive session.
Parking meters stolen
YOUNGSTOWN — Three parking meters were stolen between Walnut and Champion streets downtown.
Ampco System Parking employees were out collecting coins around 10 a.m. Tuesday when they discovered the missing meters. The meter poles had been cut about three inches of the ground and taken along with the meters themselves. The report didn’t say how the poles had been cut.
Meeting for parents
McDONALD — Village Police Chief Lou Ronghi will have the last in a series of three meetings for the April through June campaign: “Parents Who Host, Lose the Most: Don’t be a party to teenage drinking” at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the high school auditorium for any parent of a teenager.
The campaign objective is to educate parents about health and safety risks of serving alcohol at teen house parties and to increase awareness of compliance with the Ohio drinking laws.
Replacing a culvert
SALEM — The Ohio Department of Transportation said state Route 9 will be closed Tuesday to replace a culvert just north of New Garden. Maintenance crews will close the road to traffic around 8 a.m. and reopen it by 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Traffic will be detoured at state Routes 9 and 172 in New Garden. ODOT did not state the cost of the project.
ODOT also will begin work next Monday to resurface more than three miles of state Route 7. All four lanes of state Route 7 will be resurfaced from just north of the Jefferson County line to just north of the state Route 45 exit in Wellsville. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction.
The contractor for the $3.3 million project is the Shelly Co. in Thornville, Ohio. The completion date is Aug. 31.
‘Feed the Need’ event
YOUNGSTOWN — The Greater Youngstown Point Inc., 322 Wick Ave., and Greenford Christian Center’s Big Reach Center of Hope will sponsor a “Feed the Need” event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot on the corner of Wick and Rayen avenues.
Free clothing, food products, shoes, Bibles and other miscellaneous items will be distributed. Those attending may have a hot lunch and a bagged lunch. The event is open to all.

Arrested in robbery
SHARON, Pa. — Police have arrested a man in a robbery in the city.
James E. Emerson, 37, of 403 E. Silver St., was arrested Tuesday in the robbery, which happened at 7:25 p.m. Sunday, said police Capt. Travis Martwinski.
A Sharon man was robbed at gunpoint of $60 in the 400 block of Silver Street, Martwinski said.
Emerson was arraigned Wednesday morning at District Justice James McMahon’s office.
He is charged with robbery and with possessing drug paraphernalia. He was given an own-recognizance bond on the paraphernalia charge. Bond was set at $10,000 on the robbery charge. He was in Mercer County Jail in lieu of bond.
