Local woman to appear in Playboy special edition
BOARDMAN — Lyndsy Wolff, a 2005 graduate of Boardman High School, is featured in the June/July edition of Playboy’s Fresh Faces, a special edition of the magazine that hit newsstands Tuesday.
It’s a dream come true for the 21-year-old Wolff, a junior at Youngstown State University majoring in biology/pre-veterinary medicine.
She spoke to The Vindicator Wednesday shortly after her last class at YSU. “I’ve always been interested in being in Playboy, even as a young girl,” she said.
Wolff is the daughter of Youngstown Atty. Heidi Hanni and Robert Wolff of Florida. She is the granddaughter of Atty. Don Hanni, the former Democratic chairman of Mahoning County who has practiced law for 53 years in the Valley. Wolff has worked at a veterinary clinic for the past five years, and will apply to veterinary school this summer.
Her six-page pictorial display in Fresh Faces isn’t the only exposure she’ll receive from Playboy.
Wolff will be Playboy’s Campus Coed of the Week for the last week of May, which makes her a candidate for Coed of the Month. That honor will be determined by online voting on May 29 (one day only) on Playboy.com. She’s asking everyone to vote for her, because if she wins, she’ll be invited back for another photo shoot.
Wolff will also be featured in Playboy’s College Edition next month.
Her quest got started back in August 2006 when Kara Kochalko, a photographer and friend of Wolff, sent photos to Playboy. The magazine expressed its interest, but Wolff was unable to attend a casting call at the time.
She heard back from Playboy last July, when Debbie May, a producer for the magazine called to invite her to audition. “She said I was a cute, natural girl, and they liked my look,” said Wolff.
“It was the best feeling in the world to be able to audition without having to attend a casting call,” she said.
Wolff was flown to New York for an audition at Trump Tower Aug. 12, and was called back for more test shots the next day.
Her official photo shoot was Sept. 1.
Wolff is the second Mahoning Valley resident to be featured in a Playboy special edition this year. Lisa Neeld of Cortland was a model in Playboy’s Hot Housewives, which went on sale Jan. 29.
