“Ugly Betty” (8 p.m., ABC): Betty (America Ferrera) plans to spend her birthday with Henry. But those plans get derailed when Charlie — who is Henry’s baby mama — shows up. Betty’s not alone in having her relationship hampered. Wilhelmina sharpens her claws to spoil Renee’s relationship with Daniel.

“Grey’s Anatomy” (9 p.m., ABC): Having recovered from the writers strike, the prime-time schedule is once again teeming with fresh fare. This week, Meredith, Derek and the gang finally return with the first of five new episodes, and we’re anxious to see how they deal with the fallout from Derek’s kiss with nurse Rose. Whatever happens, we can only hope that we’ve seen the last of the George-and-Izzie affair. Indeed, it’s time to move on.

“The Office” (9 p.m., NBC): On “The Office,” Michael and Dwight decide to surprise Ryan in New York for a night of clubbing and you know that can’t turn out well. Meanwhile, the Scranton branch workers are ticked off when they find out they have to come in on a Saturday for Ryan’s Web site project.

“Lost” (10 p.m., ABC): “Lost” returns with the first of five new episodes that will close out the season and the producers are promising some turbo-charged action. We’ll also supposedly find out how the Oceanic 6 escaped the island, who shot Rousseau and why Sayid has become a ruthless assassin.
