Teen drowns in pond

NEWTON FALLS — The Trumbull County sheriff’s office is investigating the apparent drowning of a teenage boy in Newton Township.

A sheriff’s dispatcher said the department got a call around 6:50 p.m. Tuesday that a 15-year-old boy had drowned in a pond near Blue Water Manor, a mobile home park off Salt Springs Road.

The dispatcher said the victim’s body was recovered but there was no report available late Tuesday, and the victim’s name wasn’t released.
