Ursuline 10, Poland 9

STRUTHERS — In an eight-run fifth inning, Ursuline (12-2) registered a pair of three-run triples by seniors Paul Cene and Alex DeMario. Drew Petro had three hits for Poland (6-4).

Fitch 15, Perry 0

MASSILLON — Senior Steve Gruver struck out 16 during a one-hitter. Junior Jason Bagoly homered and doubled for four RBIs while senior Nick Wiery had a triple and three singles for four RBIs. Junior Nick Crum knocked in two runs for the Falcons (5-5, 3-2 Federal). John Hyde had the hit for Perry (7-3, 2-3 Federal).

Boardman 12, Hoover 2

BOARDMAN — The Spartans (9-4, 4-1 Federal) erupted for 11 runs in the fifth inning to end the game. Nick Dinello’s two hits included a two-run double. Kevin McCulloh doubled and singled to drive in three runs. Also doubling were Dan Kubala, Shane Parks and John Tatarka. Winning pitcher Pat O’Brien (3-2) struck out three and walked two.

Struthers 15, Lakeview 5

STRUTHERS — L.J. Schromofsky went 3-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored and Tyler Serich was 3-for-4 to lead Struthers (8-8), which took a 7-0 lead in the first inning. Ken Monti doubled and tripled for Lakeview (6-8).

Campbell 8, Chaney 1

Starting pitcher Brian Groh and last-inning reliever Kyle Firm combined to pitch a five-hitter with eight strikeouts to lead Campbell (9-2) at Roosevelt Park. Groh had six strikeouts. Firm also had a two-run single. Scott Renda had a double and single for Chaney.

Western Reserve 10, Leetonia 4

BERLIN CENTER — Gabe Gaudet’s two hits included a double for the Blue Devils (7-4, 6-2 Inter Tri-County League Tier Two). Matt Kalbfell tripled and singled while Tom Burton had two hits. Bob Banks, John Allison and John Gora combined for 14 strikeouts. Josh Selway had four hits for the Bears (7-4, 5-3) while Ryan Gruzsecki tripled.

McDonald 18, Southern 0

SALINEVILLE — Anthony Raschilla’s four hits included a three-run homer and two-run double for the Blue Devils (11-3, 9-1 ITCL2). Alex Baker and Bill Lowry each had two hits with doubles. Bill Rees and Anthony Fossaceca also had two hits.

Lowellville 21, Wellsville 4

WELLSVILLE — Tony Donofrio had four RBIs to lead Lowellville (11-2, 9-1 ITCL2). Andrew Mincher, Brian Rossavita and Bryan Wellington each added three RBIs. Brandon LaClair doubled twice for Wellsville (4-9, 2-8).

Springfield 15, East Palestine 9

EAST PALESTINE — The Tigers (11-4, 9-1 ITCL1), leading 9-7, scored six runs in the fifth inning. Pat Buckley sparked the Bulldogs (10-3, 7-3) with a triple, double and three RBIs. Matt Green hit a double and two singles.

Crestview 9, Mineral Ridge 5

MINERAL RIDGE — Behind 5-0, the Rebels (5-9) scored two runs in the fourth inning, one in the fifth and six in the sixth inning. Corey Hill, Nick Wylie and Mike Cervone each had three hits. Hill and Cervone drove in two runs apiece. Jason Ferguson led the Rams (8-8) with two hits.

Hubbard 21, Liberty 10

LIBERTY — The Leopards pulled within 12-9 heading into the sixth inning before Hubbard erupted to finish off the Leopards. Matt Shelton had two home runs and a single and four RBIs. Marc Kanetsky had four singles. Bo Slemons had three singles while Mike Carnahan and Cameron Christopher each had a home run for the Eagles. Shelton and Kanetsky both scored three times. Kyle Conway had a home run and double for four RBIs and the senior scored twice while Phil Weiss had three singles for the Leopards (0-8, 0-7 Trumbull Athletic Conference).

Champion 11, Girard 8

Andrew Beachy had a double, single and two RBIs and Joe Cvengros a single and two RBIs to lead Champion (8-3, 5-2 TAC). Bill Yartz and Joe Rable added two singles and one RBI each while Scott Bailey had two singles to reinforce the winners. For Girard (9-7, 6-3 TAC), Nick DeVore had three singles and three RBIs, Eric Archer a double, single and one RBI and Marty Brinker a double and single.

Yo. Christian 5, East Liverpool 3

YOUNGSTOWN — Senior Eddie Gonda had eight strikeouts and gave up six hits against 27 batters at Pemberton Park. Senior Nate Setnick doubled for Youngstown Christian (6-3). Brock Grafton tripled for East Liverpool (5-7).

Mathews 10, Ledgemont 3

VIENNA — Winning pitcher Luke Weymer (2-1) tossed a four-hitter, striking out six batters and walking none. Phil Siprian’s two hits included a double for the Mustangs (7-3, 3-2 Northeast Athletic Conference). Jared Nichols also had two hits.

Akron Coventry 1, Southeast 0

AKRON — Akron Coventry scored the only run of the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. Anthony Pennington of Southeast (1-1) worked a complete game, allowed only four hits in a losing cause. Greg Lemley hit a double.
