Senior Citizen dinner times are announced

AUSTINTOWN — The Austintown senior citizen dinner to be sponsored by Austintown Fitch High School and Austintown Board of Education will be held at 4 p.m. May 7 at the school cafeteria, 4560 Falcon Drive. The time was wrong in a previous article.

Reservations will be accepted until May 2 by calling (330) 797-3900, ext. 1501. The cost is $2 and can be paid at the door.

Garden Forum offers horticulture scholarship

YOUNGSTOWN — Students who are planning to further their education in horticulture are encouraged to apply for a $500 scholarship that is being made available through the Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area.

Applicants must be residents of Mahoning or surrounding counties who are planning to begin their studies in the fall or are currently enrolled in a post-secondary program. They may attend any accredited college or university in the United States.

Zumbathon scheduled at Hubbard pool

HUBBARD — The area’s first Zumbathon has been scheduled by Hubbard Community Pool as a Relay for Life event. The aerobics fundraiser will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. May 10 at Roosevelt Elementary Gymnasium, 110 Orchard Ave.

The donation is $25 for those registering through April 30 by calling (330) 534-1921, ext. 1301. Each will receive a Zumba for the Cure T-shirt. The donation at the door on the day of the event will be $40, and T-shirts will be available on a first come basis. Those collecting donations totaling more than $100 will be admitted free.

Prizes will be awarded the top three fundraisers. Concessions will be available and there will be basket raffles. For more information, call the above number.
