Pavlik honored by YSU trustees

YOUNGSTOWN — Holding up a Youngstown State University T-shirt and smiling for a photo opportunity, middleweight boxing champ Kelly Pavlik said, “You know, there’s no known cure for the bite of a penguin.”

The 25-year-old was honored Tuesday afternoon at the South Side Boxing Club for wearing a Youngstown State penguin on his trunks during his Feb. 16 fight against Jermain Taylor. YSU board of trustees member Harry Meshel presented Pavlik with a resolution from the board.
