Caleb Cope benefit set at Quaker City Raceway

SALEM— Quaker City Raceway is hosting a craft show and racing benefit to help raise money for the family of 13-year-old Caleb Cope.

Cope has been in a coma since last July, after a golf cart he was driving flipped over, and though he was able to return home from the hospital in January, he still requires special care.

The benefit will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 4 at Quaker City Raceway to help the Cope family afford needed home renovations and medical equipment.

General admission to the event is $2, and a test and tune-up for cars and bicycles is $15. All admission proceeds, as well as proceeds from a Chinese auction and 50/50 drawing, will be given to the family to aid the care of their son.
