Pa. man stable after motorcycle collision with deer


HICKORY TOWNSHIP, PA. — A Slippery Rock man was in stable condition Sunday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, after a motorcycle accident involving a deer.

Pennsylvania State Police, New Castle, said that Robert L. Webb, 32, of Harlansburg Road, was traveling south on Cameron Road shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday when a deer jumped from a hillside into his path. Webb struck the deer, losing control of the bike which slid with the animal about 125 feet along the roadway.

Webb wasn’t wearing a helmet, which was strapped to the motorcycle seat, and suffered a head injury.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics and the flown by Stat Medevac helicopter to St. E’s.
