Corroto sets Gannon all-time hit mark

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Jaclyn Corroto, a senior shortstop for the Gannon Univ. softball team from Boardman High, became Gannon’s all-time hits leader Sunday.

Corroto went 4-for-4 at the plate in the second game of a doubleheader against Hillsdale won by Gannon, 8-7, to climb into first place in career hits at the Erie, Pa., school with 234.

She eclipsed the previous record of 232 held by Sarah Kane (1998-01).

Among Corroto’s four hits was a three-run homer, and she finished the game with four RBIs.

Gannon (24-18) lost the opener to Hillsdale, 4-0.
