Warren JFK boys win Louisville Invitational


LOUISVILLE — The Warren JFK boys tennis team won the Louisville Invitational doubles tournament by sweeping all three tiers.

The No. 3-seeded team of James Rossi and Michael Guarnieri beat Fitch, 6-2, 6-2, beat Marlington 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 and took the championshp round against Lake 4-6, 6-0, 6-3.

JFK’s second-seeded duo of Larry D’Amico and Brian Ross defeated Massillon, 6-0, 6-0, beat Lake 6-1, 6-3, and, in the title match, toppled host Louisville 6-0, 6-0.

The No. 1-seeded Kennedy squad of Albert Covelli/Michael Fredericka defeated Alliance, 6-1, 6-0, beat Lake 6-2, 6-2, and topped Marlington in the championship round, 6-0, 6-1.

It marked the third time the Eagles won the event.
