ASHLAND — Lauren Sulick had a no-hitter for the Cards, whose lone run in the second game of the Wendy’s Spring Classic was scored by Tricia Bettura on Amanda Colonna’s sacrifice. Bettura walked before Butler’s catcher committed a throwing error. Brittany Danilov and Bryanne Halfhill had the only two hits for Canfield (6-2).

Canfield 10, St. Mary’s 1

ASHLAND — In the first game, Bettura had a one-hitter against last year’s Div. II state runner-up. Rachel Melewski had two triples and two RBIs, Melissa West had a home run and Bettura and Melanie West doubled.

Lakeview 13, Badger 0

CORTLAND — Mackenzie Palette struck out 13 and walked one in a five-inning no-hitter. Of Lakeview’s 10 hits, Angela DiCesare had three for two RBIs while Jessica Downs had a triple and two RBIs. Also for the Bulldogs, Joanna Novotny had two hits, Lex Sidley knocked in two runs and Palette and Taylor Butler doubled.

Struthers 10, West Branch 0

STRUTHERS — Ellen Becker had six strikeouts and allowed just one hit, while, at the plate, the Wildcats had 14 hits. Pam Sajnovsky had three hits including a home run, Dominique Martino had three hits including a double and Ashley Baron also homered. Becker, Baron and Sam Ditman each had a double. Caitlyn King doubled for West Branch.

Struthers 6, United 1

STRUTHERS — Ashley Baron pitched a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts for Struthers (13-3). Sam Ditman had two hits including a home run, Dominique Martino had a single and double and Dana Mathews had two hits for the Wildcats. Jenny McDevitt doubled for United.

Mooney 4, Dover 1

MASSILLON — Freshman Jamie Clausen pitched a complete-game four-hitter with nine strikeouts, while Kristen Stahl and Cheryl Guyer had a double apiece. Dover is 9-5.

Uniontown Lake 13, Mooney 1

MASSILLON — In its first loss in 12 games, Mooney’s Kristen Stahl tripled and scored in the third inning. Nine of Lake’s runs were unearned. Mooney (1-1) had six errors and seven walks.

Fitch 16, Salem 1

AUSTINTOWN — Heidi Soriano (4-0) combined with Amanda Callahan to pitch a three-hitter for the Falcons. Emily Purnell and Alyssa Jones had two singles and an RBI apiece, while Kara Roche knocked in two runs for Fitch. Also for Fitch, Kacie Donahue had two singles, while Jena Baun and Alexis Allison each had a run-scoring single.

Hubbard 2, Fitch 1

AUSTINTOWN — Emily Purnell had 15 strikeouts in the three-hit loss for the Falcons (7-4). Haley Martinelli and Kayla Mazerik doubled for Fitch, while Stephanie Berdis had an RBI single. Hubbard’s Kara Egelsky was the winner, allowing six hits, while Meagan Shultz doubled for the Eagles.

Youngstown Christian 17-18, Ashtabula Sts. John & Paul 2-2

ASHTABULA — Summer Lucky pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts for Youngstown Christian in the first game of a doubleheader. Lucky was backed by Kaitlyn Vestal with three singles. In the nightcap, Cecily Sandy pitched a four-hitter for Youngstown Christian (4-9). Kristi Cooper had a triple and double, Sara Bell a triple and single, Kati Hartman a double and single and Kaylin Hayes two singles.

McDonald 3, Springfield 1

McDONALD — Sophomore Kaitlin Rutushin had 11 strikeouts in a four-hitter. Jessica Ferraro had an RBI double and Sarah Ingalls doubled, while Andrea Robison had a single and three RBIs for McDonald (11-0). Kirstin Tayala added a single for the Blue Devils. Rebecca Evans, Kelsey Larson, Shala Maldonado and Morgan Fagnano had singles for Springfield (4-7).

Poland 4, Akron Ellet 1

AKRON — Jordan Palumbo (3-0) pitched a five-hitter with 12 strikeouts. Allie Patton had two doubles, two singles and one RBI and Jenna Barnhart three singles to lead Poland. Crystal Harris had a triple and single for Ellet (6-2).

Poland 5, Brunswick 2

COVENTRY — Liz Maher (4-2) pitched a nine-hitter with four strikeouts for Poland. Patton had a double, two singles and one RBI to lead Poland (8-2). Erin Morgan and Christine Kasidonis each had a double and single and McKenna Galloway two singles for Brunswick (8-3).

Warren JFK 3-9, East Palestine 0-5

EAST PALESTINE — Junior Rachel Pico had 10 strikeouts and didn’t walk a batter for the Eagles. Rachael Ratcliffe went 3-for-3 including a solo home run and Alex Raeburn also homered and drove in two runs. Brittany Dennison had three hits, while Harley Huston had two for East Palestine. Emily Stewart struck out seven and allowed just one walk for the Bulldogs. In the second game, senior J.K. Kolovich, freshmen Keikei Harris and Rachael Ratcliffe and sophomore Alex Raeburn homered for JFK (9-1). Ratcliffe and Raeburn finished with two hits apiece. Raeburn’s other hit was a double. Jesse Gamble, Jess Cavanaugh, Huston and Liz Henderson had two hits apiece for East Palestine. One of Gamble’s hits was a triple.

Lordstown 7-14, LaBrae 2-22

LEAVITTSBURG — Angelicia Pugh hit two homers, a solo shot and a two-run blast, and added two singles with four RBIs to lead LaBrae’s romp in the nightcap. Bayley Boggs contributed a triple, double, two singles and three RBIs, and Amanda Witherow a double, three singles and three RBIs also to lead the Vikings (5-6), while Chelsie Hartman had a double and three singles. In the opener, Briana Sinn pitched a four-hitter with nine strikeouts for Lordstown, while delivering a double, single and two RBIs. Heather Wickline had a double and single, Lindsey Harrison two singles and Whitney Blank two singles for the Red Devils. LaBrae’s leader was Chelsie Hartman with a double, single and one RBI.

Toledo Notre Dame 1, Ursuline 0

TOLEDO — Ursuline split a pair of games in the Toledo St. Ursula Invitational. Sophomore Casey Lower had 11 strikeouts and no walks in a loss to Toledo Notre Dame. Sophomores Anna Donko and Kasey Foley and senior Jessica Yarab had a single apiece for Ursuline. Notre Dame scored with two outs in the sixth on a single following a double.

Ursuline 5, Cleveland St. Joseph’s 3

In her first varsity start, freshman Sara Marr (1-0) gave up four hits over four innings and three runs, one of which was earned. Foley had two doubles and a single for two RBIs and scored twice, Nikka Bonamase had two singles, Yarab had two singles and two RBIs and Lower had two singles for Ursuline (9-2).

Malvern 11-11, Southern 6-0

MALVERN — Malvern held a 6-3 lead before adding four more in the bottom of the fifth. Jessica Bently had two RBIs for Southern, while teammate Desiree Dickson also knocked in two runs. In the second game, Brie Crum had three doubles and two RBIs, while Amanda Mattern also knocked in two runs.

Lisbon 13, Salem 0

SALEM — The Blue Devils put the game away with an eight-run third inning. The Quakers (0-9) stranded runners on first and second in the third inning. Katie Snoddy hit a double and single and scored once for Lisbon. Erin Sebrell hit a single for the Quakers.
