Fort DeSoto Beach, St. Petersburg, Fla.: TripAdvisor, the world’s largest online travel community, voted this peaceful, pristine white-sand beach the best in America in 2005. Now America’s Best Top Ten has voted Fort DeSoto’s dog beach the best in the USA as well.

Dog Beach, San DiegO: Your pup will have plenty of company at this popular spot near San Diego. In fact, there are probably more dogs here than humans.

St. George Island Beach, St. George Island, Fla.: Located near renowned historic towns in the Florida Gulf, this beach is a wonderful getaway for you and your dog.

Carmel City Beach, Carmel, CalIF.: Only a short walk from the village of Carmel, Carmel Beach is a beautiful and popular escape. Other pet-friendly beaches are close by.

Cape San Blas Beach, Cape Sans Blas, Fla.: Just 35 miles south of Panama City, Cape San Blas is peaceful and serenely desolate. During off season, you can sometimes walk a mile or two without seeing another dog or person.

FORT Fisher State Recreation Area, Kure Beach, N.C.: Just outside of Wilmington, NC, this beach permits dogs in all areas except swimming areas with lifeguards.
