ESPN golf challenge coming to Olde Dutch Mill
LAKE MILTON — The ESPN National Golf Challenge, presented by Callaway Golf, is a national amateur two-person better ball tournament designed to find “America’s Best twosome in both gross (scratch) and net (handicap) divisions.
Two-person teams can register at local qualifying sites and compete to play their way to the national finals. Golfers from Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania can enter the local qualifier at Olde Dutch Mill Golf Course on May 11.
Teams may consist of any combination of males and females with a maximum allowable handicap of 24 strokes in the net division. Participants qualifying at the Olde Dutch Mill qualifier will move on to regional tournament play at Quail Hollow Country Club in Painesville. At least one gross and one net division winning team from the Olde Dutch Mill qualifier will advance to the regional. The national finals will be held in Las Vegas and will be televised over ESPN2.
Each participant will receive a dozen Callaway HX Tour golf balls and a subscription to Golf Magazine. The $90 per person entry fee also includes 18 holes with a cart, range balls, lunch and one free practice round.
