CASA will mark 20th anniversary
BOARDMAN — Mahoning County CASA/GAL program will celebrate its 20th anniversary at a dinner dance from 6:30 to 10 p.m. May 9 at The Georgetown, 5945 South Ave.
The event is open to the public and includes a buffet dinner and cash bar, music and guest speaker Judge Theresa Dellick. Also featured will be a Chinese auction, a silent auction and a 50-50 drawing, with proceeds from these events to benefit the CASA/GAL program.
The ticket cost is $30 per person or $50 per couple. Corporate-sponsored tables of eight are $250 and include a table sign and program recognition. Pledges for program recognition can be made for: $35, Silver Sponsor; $50, Gold Sponsor; and $100, Platinum Sponsor.
Ways to participate
To help, the public can purchase tickets, donate a gift for an auction, make a monetary donation, place an ad in the program or become a corporate sponsor of the event. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. CASA/GAL will pick up items donated for the auction, or they may be delivered to The Georgetown on the day of the event, with notification made to CASA so the donor can be thanked in the program.

CASA/GAL is a nonprofit organization, formed in 1988 to provide a voice for abused and neglected children in juvenile dependency proceedings, and to advocate for their best interests regarding their placement, care and protection. The program recruits, screens, trains and monitors volunteers, who represent the children.
