Lil Wayne concert at Chevrolet Centre postponed

YOUNGSTOWN — Sunday’s Lil Wayne hip-hop concert at Chevrolet Centre has been postponed to an as-yet undetermined date in May.

Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., had long ago committed to appear on an episode of the CBS television series “CSI.” Shooting of the episode was delayed because of the Hollywood writers strike, which started Nov. 5 and ended Feb. 12. The strike shut down production of the show.

Production of “CSI” has since resumed, and shooting for the Lil Wayne episode was rescheduled for this weekend.

All tickets bought for Sunday’s concert will be honored at the rescheduled show.
