Alzheimer’s group sponsors event

BOARDMAN — State Sen. Capri Cafaro of Liberty, D-32nd, with professional Tim Brown of Let’s Dance, Cleveland! won “Dance the Night Away — Local Stars Dancing for Alzheimer’s.”

A half-dozen local celebrities competed Friday night in The Greater East Ohio Area Chapter Alzheimer’s Association Forget-Me-Not Spring Gala benefit at Antone’s Banquet Center on South Avenue.

The amount the event raised was not available at press time.

The other contestants were Jim Loboy (WYTV) with Mary Ann Ebert from Austintown’s Meet Me On The Dance Floor; Jennifer Baligush (WFMJ) with dance pro Bob McPhail from Boardman’s Ballroom With Style; Jeff Levkulich (WKBN) with professional Lyndall Amann of A Time To Dance; Peggy Sinkovich (WYTV) with Columbus professional Mark Wagner of Party On & Salsa Extreme; and Roxanne Sebest (WKBN) with Jim Ferris of Cavana Ballroom.

The gala began with a cocktail hour and music by Savoy followed by a buffet-style dinner.

Pam Traino from Home Instead Senior Care was honored. She is a member of the group’s community council and helps with support groups.
