“Community Connection” (6:30 a.m. Sunday, WFMJ Channel 21; and 7 p.m. Wednesday on Time Warner Cable channel 15 in Trumbull County): Youngstown native Karen Clark-Green’s dialogue play “The Color of Love” will be entered in the 2009 Black Theater Festival. She and local actor D.C. Colvin will discuss the play and interracial relationships with host Madonna Chism Pinkard.

Next, Marsha Croft and Alan Eggleston of the Trumbull County Beekeepers Association will discuss the life of bees and how their possible shortage can affect our community. Croft and Eggleston discuss the making of honey wine, pure honey and how bees have their own community, jobs and duties.

Finally, 75th Vindicator Spelling Bee Champion Hannah Gerdes, her father, Robert Gerdes, and Nena Perkins, Bee coordinator, will discuss how the local spelling bee has made a difference in our community.
