Sam’s Club schedules anniversary open house

BOARDMAN — Sam’s Club will have an open house Friday through Sunday to celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary. Nonmembers will be able to shop at the South Avenue store and use the gas station without paying the nonmember service fee.

WCI: Fire at furnace caused no damage

WARREN — WCI Steel said Wednesday that a fire in the steel mill’s blast furnace Tuesday caused no damage or interruption to operations. The fire occurred when a gas bleeder did not close properly, the company said. There were no injuries. Firefighters remained on standby, but no fire department equipment was used.

Ad Club plans meeting; reservations are due

LIBERTY — The Ad Club will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex. Reservations are due today by contacting Jennifer Mascardine at jennifer@regionalchamber.com. The cost is $20 for chamber members and $25 for others.
