Boardman burning regulations outlined

BOARDMAN — The township’s fire prevention bureau is reminding residents about open burning regulations.

Camp fires are permitted for cooking or enjoyment purposes and fires are limited to three feet in width and height. Burning of leaves, yard waste or painted, treated or sawn lumber is prohibited.

Residents are permitted to burn clean, dry fallen wood. The fire must be kept away from any combustible structure and must be supervised by an adult with a means of extinguishment close by.

Burning permits issued by the fire department must be obtained. Permits are available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the fire prevention office, 126 Boardman-Poland Road,
