SINGERS

Garrettsville Summerfest, JAG Auditorium, Garrettsville. Open-call auditions for idol talent wanted May 4 with semifinals May 18. Finals are June 29. Be prepared to sing for the semifinals and finals. There are three age categories: 8-12 at 1 p.m.; 13-17 at 2 p.m. and 18 and older at 3 p.m. Prizes total $1,500. MUSICIANS

Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra. Auditions are ongoing for section strings: violin, viola, cello and bass are being held for the 2007-08 season. Rehearsals are 7:30-10 Thursday at the Tri-C’s Metropolitan Campus Auditorium in downtown Cleveland. Audition requirements are one solo piece and one orchestral excerpt of your choice.
