Police seek getaway car in robbery

VIENNA — Township police are looking for a getaway car they say was used in a robbery Monday night of the Circle K on state Route 193.

Police say James Clemens, 29, of Pittsburgh, held the convenience clerk at knife point while robbing her. He fled on foot.

While police were searching the area, they spotted a car traveling south on Route 193 and stopped it just south of state Route 82. Clemens, the passenger, jumped out of the car and ran but was caught. The driver sped away.

Police are looking for a black or dark blue 1995 Saturn with Ohio license plate number EFD 5922 to interview the driver, a 29-year-old Kinsman man who lives on state Route 88.

Anyone with information is asked to call Trumbull County 911 or township police, (330) 675-2730.

Clemens appeared Tuesday in Girard Municipal Court on a charge of aggravated robbery. He is in the county jail in lieu of $50,000 bond with a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 23.
