‘Gigantic’ garage sale at Canfield Fairgrounds this weekend

CANFIELD — The 14th Annual Angels for Animals Gigantic Garage Sale Friday through Sunday is just one of many events that take place at the Canfield Fairgrounds during the months when it is not being used for the fair.

The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The grounds are also used by the Mahoning Valley Drug Task Force, Ohio State Penitentiary and Mahoning County Bomb Squad for training purposes, said Bev Fisher, fair manager.

With its smooth terrain, the grounds are also used by individuals for walking, jogging and other outdoor activities, she said.

The 350-acre site is open to the public daily except during certain events. The Canfield Fair, established in 1846, by the Mahoning County Agricultural and Horticultural Society, is located at 7265 Columbiana-Canfield Road in Canfield.
