CLEVELAND — Jason Varitek sat long enough. After resting for eight innings, Boston’s catcher hit a pinch-hit home run in the ninth inning off Jensen Lewis to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 4-3 win over the Cleveland Indians Tuesday night, sweeping the two-game ALCS rematch.
